I just got my neck back from our own OneL. He offered to do the refret for me after I mentioned my interest in the Santa Cruz style fret-ends. I just got it back today & here it is:

Hmmmmm, nobody nipped the tangs on the frets. Not sure I would like that one. If the wood shrinks it could be nasty.

I've never had a refret before...
Question...
When you do just the neck like that, does it still need to be leveled when you put it on the guitar, or is it leveled without out it being on a guitar?

The frets are typically leveled after the new frets are put in before you reattach the neck to the body.
