    Squier affinity bass

    I have GAs for a new bass...I love p basses but am a guitar player not a bass player. Are the Squier afinity decent instruments? i dont want to buy this thing and have it be a piece of junk.

    i still have one, mine is pretty darn good. a pup swap helps alot. i bought mine for 150, dropped another 75 on pups, pots, and output jack. and it sounds great.

    My first recent bass was a Squier Affinity P bass. Excellent bang for the buck. Fender states this bass is alder and is made in China. The P bass special is made of Agathis and built in Indonesia. The China models seem to be made better. I have had both and the Affinity P bass was less expensive and better made.
    They sound decent enough. Their electronics may not have the longivity of a better bass but that is fairly inexpensive if you can do it yourself.
