    1980 P bass color

I need some info on an 1980 P bass. I just took this on trade and took off the pickguard to clean. The bass is a "french's mustard" yellow but is off white under the pickguard. I have seen guitars yellow with age but never this much. There is no paint ridge around the pickguard?!?! Any ideas?

By the way, any idea on value? I'm a guitar player and may trade it for something. Looks like orginal pickups and the neck is rosewood. I have pictures.

Lets see some pics! I have a '79 Trans blond Strat that started life trans white (like a new one would look like) and it is pretty much yellow now.
