Got the solder iron out and have a question about capacitor

Question for some of the oldtime Tele junkies. Got some old Aerovox .05mf 400vdc paper caps. They are the original ones for the Broadcaster/Nocaster, they are 1" yellow with black writing, like a small little tube as thick as a cigarette. There is a black band at one end, I'm sure this designates polarity. I've seen a picture of the same capacitor with the black band on the Tone control pot side. Anyone know of this is correct. Thanks!
