relic? or a woodshop project gone terribly wrong?
"don't worry, i'm a professional!"
I like it! But I'm a ...
well, i do too in a sick sort of way. just looks a little "too reliced".
"don't worry, i'm a professional!"
Literally on the road! And on fire! :heeit looks as if it has been on the road for 25 years!
it reminds me of those wood-slab coffee tables. I am sure they have a proper name, but I just don't know what they are called...
Seriously, THAT tele body looks like it's been in a BBQ or something... sheesh!! How charred will the neck have to be to match this body???
Rare, Medium or well done???
"...and it is sealed with super light coats of nitrocellulose lacquer - NOT those thick coats that will deaden your sound!"
Super light coats? :lol
The shot with gold hardware reminds of when you run into a long lost cousin at a wake, and he's wearing a shirt and tie with work boots. :yay

Could be that body's been through hell, but this guitar...

now that is COOL! i would have totally bought that thing.
"don't worry, i'm a professional!"
The crushed velvet body wrap is kool. That whole guitar has a strange vibe...yet, I like it.

Intriguing, but my Catholic school past would come up and bite my prosterior if I spent too much time with that thing.
That's actually a great idea Spose. I would donate a part or two and work on it. It's things like this that create a community spirit. I think it would be cool to perhaps finish it and give it to someone who might not otherwise be able to buy something real nice.
If you're bored, you're not groovin'.
Spose, that is a brilliant idea. I recommend TFF acquire the burnt up tele body as the starter piece.
25 years on the road? I dunno. I know some crazy shit goes down on the road but I can't imagine at what point you'd be putting out fires with your Telecaster.
s'all goof.
very cool idea...I am willing to go out to Callaham's in Winchester and pick up a bridge or other parts if we need them, ship them to Chuck...if we do not give it away to a TFF folk we can auction it and give the bucks to So Other's Might Eat or something like that. But the concept it cool - internet 0011's to reality.
Here's a modest starting point. Medium/light weight. Ash, as it should be. Traditional routing. I'll pitch in $50 towards it.

One more $50 comittment and I'll call Warmoth and put it on my credit card.
Just tell me where to have it shipped.
If you're bored, you're not groovin'.
I'm there with the other $50.
I'm on the phone. Where do I ship it?
If you're bored, you're not groovin'.
Hang on a moment there, fellahs. What's the object of this game? I suggested the Bar-B-Q-ocaster because it was funny. I thought it would be neat if we all threw in some of the junk we all have laying around and came up with a goofy guitar. You guys are obviously thinking of building an extremely nice Tele.
Nothing wrong with that idea, please just clarify.
We, the members of TFF, are going to collectively design and build a totally kick-ass Telecaster and then give it/raffle it away to somebody here????
s'all goof.
This is where things might have taken a turn curtisstetka. It looks like the idea is evolving a bit and it would be nice to give away a decent guitar to someone here that was collectively financed and built by people on this site. It won't cost much when the expense is spread around. This is the kind of thing that gives a web forum a sense of community and shows that there are real people here doing real things.Originally Posted by Tele-Bob

I've got a six-piece ashtray from my Burton...
don't have any spare parts but will be glad to donate or buy and pick up parts at Callaham's close to here and send them for the project..guess first step is to have the BUILDER Captan set forward - I think this thing might get shipped all over prior to completion...hey how about Phil in UK painting this Fiesta Red :-) That was a fun project to follow? Ideas like that.
hehe, I threw my hat in before I read this...sure I can...figure and extra pound of paint if we go this route. :%Originally Posted by Spose

Those '52 Fender p'ups sound real good. That's real nice of you to offer them up!

I'll throw in some Fender MIA tuners. They were for a strat, but I don't think it really makes a difference.

You mean the whole TFFocaster started on this thread as a fluke?! Cool deal!!! :)
What happoened to the main discussion area???
