My 1983 Fullerton made '62 RI
This was pretty much the only guitar I played from 1994 to 2001. Bought it from a kid at the Dallas Guitar Show as a back up for the 1988 '62 RI that was at the time my main guitar. It didn't take long for this on to become my go to. Toured this guitar all over the country for years. It only had a tiny bit of wear right around the contoured armrest when I bought it.
The necks on these things were really skinny. Hard to believe I played it so long with a neck like that, but I guess I got used to it. Anyway. Pics:

Wow, that's a wonderful REAL relic job. No artisan does it better than the road.
Congratulations!!

Very nice, indeed! It's like a comfortable pair of old jeans.
How many refret jobs did you go through?

I was thinking about asking the same thing.
oh and what's with drilling a second strap button hole?

Just the one refret, but those things are huge so there's been quite a few level, crown and polish jobs on those frets. That's another thing I've moved away from, huge fret wire. Intonation issues drive me crazy these days. I'm actually contemplating putting a different neck on this guitar!:wow
The strap button location was just a function of the road. It was worn out, kept coming out, didn't really have a sufficient dowel situation so we just drilled a new hole and played the show.

Oh man PLEASE don't go for another neck! That's one guitar that deserves to remain intact! It has its history and oozes mojo!
My 23 years old red strat is like that, it's cool and could use a few modifications, but I would never swap anything on it, I'd rather leave it as it is. I will be able to tell my grandchildren that I played my first gig and many more with it!

Wow, that's got some weirdness to it. The tuners look new and they are rust buckets by nature, but the string tree looks like it was dipped. Like it!
