1968 Fender Pro Reverb Circuit
I recently purchased a 1968 Fender Pro Reverb and was wondering what circuit it might have.
The chassis is dated 1965 . choke and output transformer is dated late 1967. Would all the earlier 68 models have the AA165 circuit. Unfortunately the tube chart is ripped off the inside so I can't tell. Thanks
Re: 1968 Fender Pro Reverb Circuit
The AA165 circuit was replaced by the AB668 revision in June of '68. Check your chassis closely for signs of an ink-stamped assembly date near the power tranny.
Re: 1968 Fender Pro Reverb Circuit
I looked but could not find it but at least I know it's one of the 2. I'll just print both. Going to my amp tech who has worked on many of my amps before. Including a 68 pro reverb I sold in 2008. The previous owner just replaced rectifier tube weber WU4GB solid state one. The Weber sight says it is a replacement for the 5U4GB but the amp I have called for a GZ34 so I bought a GZ34 I want to use. I've read where they draw different currents so I want to make sure I have the right tube. Going to have the amp tech go through the amp .
Re: 1968 Fender Pro Reverb Circuit
Both the AA165 and the AB668 are designed to use the GZ34 rectifier.
