Put together a Thinline Stratocaster recently...
Re: Put together a Thinline Stratocaster recently...
Looks flamboyantly sweet!
How about some details?
Re: Put together a Thinline Stratocaster recently...
The body is from a Chinese seller on Ebay, made of alder, and very lightweight ($180). The neck is by AllParts, model SRF-21 ($200), vintage spec, i.e. small vintage frets, 7-1/4" radius, slab rosewood board. The pickups are USA Pure Vintage 65s, the tuners are single-line USA Pure Vintage, as well. Fender slotted bone nut, F neck plate, string tree, and strap buttons. The trem unit is a Fender Mex Standard vintage system.

What's it weigh and how does it sound?
Re: Put together a Thinline Stratocaster recently...
Weight is 6 lbs 14 ounces. The body is not a true Thinline, in that it is solid except for the Thinline routing. Kind of like half solid body, half Thinline.
The Pure Vintage 65 pups are crystal clear and bell-like. More clarity than my 57-62s. I wired the set so I have a tone control on the bridge pup and I'm able to get a great range of tones on all five positions.

Great, another shiny object to distract me.
Beautiful and inspiring.
