NBD.....Roadworn content.....pics will follow
OK so I am a road worn jazz bass junkie. So far I have owned 4 but currently only had one in possession. At least that was the case until… today. I have been trying to find a second one that set my hand the way the 1st 1 did that bass is a unicorn. It's the 1 that you almost never find . At least while you are conscious.
This one seems really really close. Ever slightly thicker and more broad in diameter but absolutely the same at the nut and up the sides of the fret board. The other 3 that I had were all larger and I thought I would get used to them. I could not and they went away. Two went back to the Original owners and one was sold for a slight profit. This one was purchased brand new 8 years ago or so and hardly played. a thought just sat in a studio.
I will try and post some pictures later but it looks exactly like any of the fiesta red with rosewood jazz basses they make.
It's set up very nicely for me plays well sounds great feels good x's all of those boxes. I will likely throw on a set of flat wound strings soon. The strings that are on it now play fine sounds great it's not grimy at all it was really well taken care of hardly played very very very clean. They is going up just a little bit and price and the last year or so and the rosewood examples are getting harder to find.

sounds like the fender version of the squier cv60 precision that I missed out on. crazy money for an import if you can find one.
Re: NBD.....Roadworn content.....pics will follow
Congrats! Might look like every bass that color, but you know we still like to see pics.
But yeah, man. Glad you've found another instrument that you like a lot already.

Thats the faded aspect I guess. I like it. I am going to burnish the edges a little - I did this on the strat and it made such a difference. The sunburst one was already ready already.

Dan - I have a CV precision - had to change the anemic pup, it was horrible. I have heard others and wonder if mine was out of phase? The neck was a little wide for me, so I actually found a guy who hated how slim the jazz CV neck was. Even up swap and done. I like it, its light, it sounds great and I am in it for whatever new cost was......300-350? I have the sonic blue.

Not that there's anything wrong with pink.

And THAT'S what is important!
Re: NBD.....Roadworn content.....pics will follow
So I rounded/rolled the edges some tonight - not really anything to see, but everything to feel.
I will play i some tomorrow and see how it feels. Friend is hosting a jam friday, Maybe play it for a few songs, see how it feels. Have a friend play it with host band and get an unbiased opinion.
Oh my god, I hope its not to pink for them! Hahahahahaha

Can any bass be too pink? The answer is yes, when it's a neon pink. Can't take that. But the kind of pink you're talking about looks great.

Fred, that's exactly what I'm talking about. I've seen Fenders in a similar finish.
Now it's a matter of taste, and I'm not putting down anyone's like or dislike of that pink. It's just something I really don't like. I do like neon colors on some things, just not music gear.
Re: NBD.....Roadworn content.....pics will follow
the pictures are showing up now.
Jeez, Frank, save some money and buy some brighter lights for your place. It's like you live in a dark cave
Re: NBD.....Roadworn content.....pics will follow
How many people are chained up just a few feet from your basses? The lighting tells me you're in a basement. My imagination tells me you have slave guitar techs whom you feed on McDoubles and gas station chicken.
I looked at the other pics of the bass. Really nice. I like the color a lot.

After I lowered the lotion into the cellar, using an OSHA approved bucket and non-sparking rope, I had the cellar dwellers work a little more on the edge rolling. They did a nice job, so I gave them a small can of cat food to share, but alas, they have no can opener. Oh well, they will figure it out I guess.
Re: NBD.....Roadworn content.....pics will follow
No can opener! I like the way you think!
As a teacher, I'd usually pick on a good student. In private, I'd tell them that they were doing a great job and that my teasing was just for fun. Then in class, I'd make up stories about them. One really shy guy--I told the class he kept people in his basement. Guy was so shy, but he smiled when I went into silly mode. That was a fun part of my job.
