Neat! What all's going on with this bass?
That is too kool for skool!
Thank you gentlemen!
The body is a light one piece mahogany with a Chechen over maple neck.
This will have active EMG's.
Nice looking bass...
That's a pretty looking fingerboard! Almost a shame to hide it behind strings!
Do flatwounds count?
Another coat of tru oil.
With all the humidity in the swamp, I'm letting each coat dry for 24 hours before a light 1500 grit sand an another coat.
Yall gonna get bored!

Not me, I LOVE looking at project pictures!
I could get into something like that. I think I would like the control cavity to be on the back, seems like it would be easier than trying to stuff the pots and output jack on a pickguard on the traditional front mount body.
where did you get that body?
I got it from the bay.
more pics coming shortly!
:spin:
Where is that confounded LIKE button!!!
I shall call you...... Sir thump a Lot!!
Freaking close enough.
With wax.

Just beautiful!
Schweet.
Lordy lordy that thing is so beautiful and so damned rock and roll. Congrats on a job well done.
Love the matching mahogany cavity cover! The beauty is in the details! Bet it sounds sweet! Always liked the sound of a mahogany bass.
Thank You Gentlemen!
It really sounds nice.
Im going to let it settle in for a bit before I make any final tweaks but it's really close right now.
:salud:
Bang up job man she looks sweet..
I am curious… How did the pick up placement affect the tone? Is it tighter bottom in the spirit of a stingray is it more mid and low town like a P bass or does it have a really unique characteristic all of it soon?
It's definitely tighter and less middy than my p bass with the same pickups.
I'm going to pull the flats off tonight and try some rounds.
